Nap time...Quiet...Peaceful! :)

Since my last post... Em had fever 102.5 on Saturday night, felt horrible. Last tooth decided to come through (terrible timing!), but then the fever was back Sunday night, much higher then she typically runs when getting a tooth.. then the rash... she was irritable and cranky, not sleeping well. Thankfully I was able to have a good friend check her ears and sure enough: ears! So, we got some medicine, well then the fight began. She REFUSED to take it, didn't matter what I did to "trick" her... Tuesday was my first day, all day at home with both kids, actually let me say was SUPPOSED to be. Emily woke up in quite a mood, then we battled over the medicine. Cartoons got taken away and she spent a lot of time in the corner, not to mention several tears from both Emily and mommy. I was so tired due to her not feeling well/not sleeping plus every 2 hour feedings...Thankfully, Aaron was able to switch his driving and come home for the afternoon. Wednesday, Eli had his 1 week check up (come back to this in a minute) and we got new medicine... which she also REFUSED to take (even when tag teamed by mom and dad). Since she acted like she felt better the next day, we gave up the fight, but WOW what an ordeal that was! I am very glad Emily is feeling better and back to herself. She is one strong-willed, stubborn little girl. Wondering how she is doing with Eli after hearing all of this? :) Well, the wonderful thing about her is she is also very loving and sweet. She loves her baby brother and keeps up with where he is and what he is doing, however there has been the occasional pulling of his leg, biting his finger and even squeezing on him a little much. It seems as though she is looking for attention from mommy or daddy but when she stops to realize that she "hurt" Eli, she seems very sorry and comes to him crying and says "I'm sorry, baby brother" and gives him kisses. Overall though, I think she is doing very well with him.

Now to Eli, Eli is a very content little man as long as his belly is full! :) He eats about every 2 hours, leaving his mama a little over an hour to rest in between feedings. Every once in a while he goes 3 hours but they seem to happen more often during the day. He was back to birth weight at his one week check and doing well. At first, he didn't remind me much of Emily but then at about 1 week, which is when Emily got to come home, I was able to start seeing things he does that reminded me of Em. With Emily, everything was so stressful, she was premature, tiny, I felt horrible with labor and delivery and several weeks after, NICU, would NOT eat but HAD to eat a certain amount at each feeding, horrible diaper rash/staph infection, going into flu season...This time has been a completely different experience, one that I have been able to sit back and ENJOY so much more. Plus, seeing Emily (when she's sweet) with him, just melts my heart.

Both kiddos are awake! Pictures coming soon! :)
