"Dapi"-less

So Courtney, posted about "the girl, the letter, and the fairies".... (BTW-Courtney is always telling great stories about her girls and also posting neat thoughts, ideas and has a way of making any story a great story-check it out, it's fun to read!)

So, that post gave me an idea. After discussing it with Courtney several times now, we have The story of "the girl, the letter and Pinkie Pie" Miss Emily and A have somewhat similar personalities... A is just a little older then Em, so I thought this idea might work! Emily LOVES parties and presents and cupcakes too so................

On Friday, Emily received a letter from Pinkie Pie (My little pony-afraid for fairies since her room has Tinkerbell accents-didn't want to totally traumatize her!) Pinkie Pie explained to her that her "dapi" (AKA pacifier) would soon break but that Scootaloo and Pinkie Pie would be planning a BIG GIRL party for her when she was ok to sleep without dapi.... That night she said, "Need pink dapi-NO PARTY!"

Mean ol' Pinkie Pie broke dapi on Saturday. Nap-not a chance! Pink dapi was "missing a piece" and we must "find purple dapi"!! Purple dapi was "lost" by Grandma Patty, so we are down to just the pink dapi. Em had to look high and low for purple dapi, under the couch, on the table, but just could not find it!

Saturday bedtime passed.... finally after she talked and talked and talked and talked some more, "I missing something in my mouth!" and telling the story of Pinkie Pie cutting her dapi with scissors... (Aaron said there is another reason we had a dapi! HA), at 11:15 pm she fell asleep.

Sunday morning, she woke up at normal time and while in the bathtub, Pinkie Pie dropped off a My little pony coloring book on Emily's pillow to take to church since she slept ALL night without dapi. Emily was so excited saying, "Pinkie Pie brought me this!" So off to church we went...

Successful nap on Sunday after a short fought battle and then another late night partly due to Superbowl gathering at our house and also d/t no dapi! About 11ish it was off to sleep again....

So, I guess we will see how today goes...

Hopefully, Pinkie Pie and Scootaloo will soon be able to throw a party for Miss Em with balloons, cupcakes and a big girl present!

Thanks to Courtney for the creative idea!

Oh yes.. sounds familiar. Stay consistant. Especially since she is sleeping through the night even if harder going down. She will get it! We're excited for her dapi-less life :)

Yay for Emily!! We got rid of ours 2wks ago and it has been the best thing! I cut the top of it off probably 3 months ago but finally took the plunge last week. I told Mere 3 months ago that she broke her paci because she was so big because they really are only for babies. Then last week when she was exhausted Luke got her to fall asleep without it (a miracle I tell you). She was like Emily the first couple nights and naps, now she still asks every once in awhile and I tell her "remember you threw it away last week". I really have her convinced that she threw it away! haha!
